M + B gallery LA

also at the M+B gallery were a few peices by Massimo Vitali. i had seen some of his work earlier that day, so was happy to stumble across some large prints. i love them on them in books and even on the screen, but printed out properly they look amazing.

M + B Gallery LA

as i have been venturing around the USA, i haven't had much time unfortunately to do much blogging. time now to share a few things which i have enjoyed visually...

first of all...LA

i lovelovelove LA, so much to see and do
something i particualrly enjoyed was the M+B gallery which is currently holding the 'Barack Obama: the freshman' exhibition...

"Lisa Jack, then a student of photography at Occidental College, sought a striking subject for a portrait project and was tipped off about a charismatic freshman named “Barry” Obama who would make an ideal subject.
After the shoot, these images would remain locked away for the next 28 years, until a dare from a friend triggered Lisa Jack to seek them out.
At first worried these images could be used against President Obama, Jack realized they were not incriminating of anything other than being young and self-conscious, and that they offered a unique glimpse into how the man who made history went from being “Barry” to Barack.
This exhibition marks the first time these rare photographs have ever been printed and on display."

What Katie Wore

fashion blog 'whatkatiewore' is one of my favourites. started by boyfriend when katie claimed that she thought that she could go a whole year without wearing the same outfit twice. he photographs her daily and records her stylish outfits day by day. quirky, eccentric and colourful, each outfit is seen to be different. here are some of my favourites..

...oh so jealous of the size of her wardrobe.

Bangers and Fash NG1

proud of my trent boys

a small group of my friends who do graphic design at my uni have set up a t-shirt company called 269.
designing the graphics and screen printing them to the tees themselves is how they have begun their business. earlier this month they held a fashion show at a brownes bar in nottingham along with other up and coming brands; we make t shirts and individual threads.
mr dan boaden from synthdromes was the guest dj along with justin reid-simms
the night was a huge success
as they say,
'watch this space...'

one of these please...

busy end of term times have meant i haven't blogged in a while now..so let's get back into the swing of things
summer is finally here and the beach is beckoning...can't wait to hit the cornish waves next week...could do with one of these to get me and my surf stuff about!

the tattoo trend

are tattoos simply a fashion trend?
with so many people these days inking their skin it has become a modern day phenomenon...but will it go out of fashion? is there going to be some special way of not maintaining the quality of the image when the skin gets old and wrinkly?!
some i love and some i hate, but i can't help thinking, no trend lasts forever. i change my wardrobe, hair and general style far too much to be sure of having something on me forever!
this photoshoot is way back from december 2007, vogue italia, but i thought it was appropriate for my thoughts!
